Description:
All that mattered to him was the magic and mystery of numbers. The world of numbers was the sole reality for S.Ramanujan, Indias most famous mathematician of the twentieth century. Born in a poor family of Tamil Nadu, Ramanujan was a child prodigy but it took years of struggle for him to gain recognition. However, one day he went on to win a fellowship from Trinity College, Cambridge, in spite of the fact that he did not have a degree from any Indian university. Ranging over many spheres of mathematics with equal felicity, Ramanujan jotted everything down in his famous notebooks and these are still being studied by mathematicians .He died at the young age of thirty-two but his work continues to influence not just mathematics but many other fields of science.
