Description:
This is the first book in the series of the Geronimo Stilton adventure stories. Here introducing Geronimo Stilton and his New Mouse City and The Rodent’s Gazette, the story leads Stilton into the search for a lost treasure in Emerald Eye.

Summary Of The Book

Geronimo Stilton works at The Rodent’s Gazette as an editor and writes adventures stories in his past time at his study. He lives in the capital of Mouse Island, New Mouse City with his sister Thea, his nephew, Benjamin, and cousin Trap. He is an atypical mouse who has a penchant for getting into the most peculiar adventures. The Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye begins with Thea, who finds an old map that shows the path to a hidden and lost treasure in a faraway land, an island.

Written in a first person narrative style, the mouse explains to readers that he wasn’t much stoked about the whole voyage but only carried it out on the insistence of Thea. The passengers aboard the boat to that island were Thea, his cousin Trap, his nephew Benjamin, their friend Gerrykins and Geronimo. Their quest to that mysterious land is one fraught with several mishaps and adventures but Geronimo and his fearless mice family tempt the fate with their resolution in discovering the Emerald Eye.

Geronimo and the family search for the precious jewel and amidst a shipwreck and a hapless marooning, they find more than they could have ever imagined. The book reads out like a quirky adventure novel where the characters are as colorful as the very pages. The book contains a number of offerings that are delightful in terms of an introduction roster containing an editorial snippet of sorts along with a picture of the characters in the story.

With a focused design of graphics and colourful fonts that are intended for children, this opener in the Geronimo Stilton series is a lovable effort to coerce the attention of the readers. The book is intended for children between the ages of 6 and 12. It was published in February, 2004 in the Italian language and opened to commercial success. The series has been translated in over 35 languages since this first release and is one of the most successful children’s book series.
